Kite Festival & Art About

There was a Kite Festival at Bondi Beach a few weeks ago. I didn't get many photos, but there were SO MANY people there. (I'm pretty sure I haven't posted about this yet?) Anyway, here's two pictures.

Sydney is hosting some  kind of art festival for the next month and we went out to the kickoff event. It's called Art About.
But first! look at the little mini-coke. It's so cute. Unfortuntely, there are no name Cokes in Australia >:(

Food!

Cooked on the grill of a car (get it? )

2-decker antique bus that was free during the event. We road it in a little circuit around a little bit of Sydney.
On a side note, I met the creator of RideSurf, which is a service like Uber or Lyft that I'd already used 2 times. So that was kinda cool.

Apparently that 2-decker bus' business has been around since 1830.

Have ya'll met Manny? Say hi.
Have some random pictures:
This is one of a few awesome things on the wall of a super-cheap bar we go to a lot.

This was a southern-food restaurant we went to for Taina's birthday. It was good, but clearly only imitation, not the real thing. I liked the sign though.

This was on the wall at Miss Peaches.  :)

So I leave in 2 days for Thailand. To assuage worries, my flight numbers on the way there (9/27):
      Sydney to Kuala Lumpur: MH0142
      Kuala Lumpus to Bangkok: MH0782
On the way back (10/4):
     Koh Samui to Bangkok: PG0136
     Bangkok to Kuala Lumpur: MH0775
     Kuala Lumpar to Sydney: MH0123

I have no idea of I'll have Internet while I'm there, but it'll be spotty at best. I'm not going anywhere where I'll be at risk for malaria or yellow fever or anything so no worries.

  1. You look like quite the city dweller and I am jealous. That bus looked cool. And the weather for the kite festival...mmm I want it. Be safe in Thailand. I love you big!
