First Half day

It's only been a half day so far but I feel like I've been awake for approximately forever so you get another post. :)

After staying at the study abroad office for a bit a few of us went to get our student id cards and then to look around campus. which took us a bit to get back to the office since we got a little lost. This was followed by a bit of time wasting: some other exchange students and I got in a line to get in a line to see an advisor so we could check in to the dorms. but then a woman told us we didn't need to be in that line unless we wanted to talk to an advisor about our class schedules. so we left the line. (And got some delicious food). Then we went to the residential life office and they told us we had to go to the study abroad office and talk to an advisor to check in...so we did that and now i'm unpacking in my dorm.

When I say it like that, it doesn't seem like very much. But I swear I've been awake for forever

I'm HERE!

I'm at UNSW. I got all my bags without a problem (though it took a while) and through customs. Found the UNSW pickup people and am at the study abroad office wqiting for room keys which we should have by....2pm. It is 8am. But I need to get a student ID and stuff and work on my class schedule. So it'll be fine. I'm here with about 8 other exchange kids, from UK, Bombay, Illinois, ect.

Outdoor Club

So I'm thinking of joining the outdoor club at UNSW. Here's their website: http://unswoc.org/wordpress/joi/
Sounds good to me, but idk.

What do you think? I kind of need to make a decision pronto because they have a trip this Saturday that sounds awesome (unless you think I'll be too time-change hungover?):

a trip this weekend hiking/dry canyoning in Gardens of Stone NP (near Lithgow) suitable for beginners, see details below. I'm having some issues with my UNSWOC site log in I'll post it properly as soon as I can.
We will be heading out to camp in a cave we found recently whilst exploring a canyon. The canyon is dry and has no abseils, so all you need to bring is gear for an overnight hike. We don’t need tents, but the cave is quite sandy, so I would recommend bringing a ground sheet so that you don’t get so much sand in your stuff. The trip is suitable for beginners with a reasonable level of fitness.
We will leave Sydney on Saturday morning, walk into the cave (only a couple of kms) then have most of the day to explore the canyon area. We will set up camp (and a fire), then walk out the next morning. We should be back in Sydney not too late on Sunday afternoon.
